Job summary

Arkansas Children's Hospital is seeking a Planning, Design & Construction leader to manage projects across facilities, coordinating with operations and external partners. The role requires guiding teams, aligning milestones, and maintaining program goals in a complex pediatric environment.

The position emphasizes staff coaching, effective communication, and ensuring safety and quality in project delivery within a safety-sensitive setting. This full-time role is based at AC's Little Rock campus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • In lieu of a High School Diploma/GED, 7 years of experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field recommended.
  • Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) - ASHE preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages Planning, Design and Construction Projects.
  • Coordinates planning, design and construction project activities and disciplines with AC operations.
  • Accountable for coaching team on all project communication between client and project team.
  • Intercedes when issues arise to build/restore relationships.
  • Establish alliances with other departments and organizations to assess partnerships.
  • Maintains knowledge to develop department goals, performance metrics and programs.
  • Responsible for HR actions for reporting staff, including hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Planning Design & Construction Summary: Manages, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of planning, design and construction projects within AC. Has authority for staff personnel actions. Responsible for construction activities for all AC facilities. Manages construction team. Manages relationship with construction partners.

Required Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Recommended Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
