Overview

Manager Environmentally Preferred Products

What you will be doing:

This position will be responsible for the supplier program management of the Premier Environmentally Preferred Products (EPP) Program and product planning responsibilities for Sourcing Education and Enrichment for Diverse and Small Suppliers (SEEDS) Program. This position will have oversight over the following areas: relationship with outside data providers and internal IT stakeholders regarding EPP product details and SEEDS Program product planning; EPP questions needed for sourcing activities and SEEDS Program product planning; content development and executive level deliverables for senior sourcing leadership and Premier membership; project management support for key EPP sourcing initiatives and categories identified for SEEDS Program contract consideration; and management of contracts with external EPP providers.

This position will have accountability for the development of EPP questions to be used by all sourcing planners as necessary questions for our supplier community regarding the EPP product attributes. The Manager, Supplier Program Management is an integral part of and an extension of the Product Planning team, providing input on department goals and strategy regarding the development of the Premier EPP Program and working with the Sr. Director, Supplier Program Management to launch sourcing process for the SEEDS Program.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1– 30%

EPP Product Data Management

  • Leads the process associated with incorporating third party EPP data into Premier data tools (SCA, PIM, etc.)

  • Works with vendor and Premier IT team to map appropriate content

  • Contacts suppliers regarding data elements needed for EPP determination

  • Assists Products Planners / Negotiators in connecting final results of sourcing process to placement in Premier Tools.

Responsibility #2 – 20%

EPP Questions for Sourcing RFI Process

  • Primary contact and resource for Product Planners on all EPP questions required in RFI Sourcing Phase.

  • Research EPP background information related to healthcare supply chain and understands future trends

  • Writes and delivers all content used for EPP portion of RFI, provides scale for rating responses where applicable.

Responsibility #3 – 20%

Thought Leadership on EPP Content

  • Lead the EPP Council monthly meetings

  • After transition period, writes a monthly article / blog focusing on an EPP highlight associated with GPO Portfolio Suppliers.

  • Responsible for discussions with member committees, members and suppliers regarding Premier EPP program.

Responsibility #4 – 15%

EPP Program Reporting

  • Provides internal and external facing reports regarding breadth and growth of EPP program.

  • Assists members in determining EPP utilization and opportunities for growth within the program.

  • Manages and monitors 3rd party relationships for sourcing services; supplement existing sourcing activity with external resources on contingency-based contracts

Responsibility #5 – 10%

Special Projects / Initiatives

  • Project management of special sourcing projects/initiatives

  • Ensures projects and initiatives have defined scope, action plans and timelines, resources, and measurements of success

Responsibility #6 – 5%

Other Duties

  • Takes an active role in giving and receiving feedback (including informal and formal performance evaluation) in support of continuous improvement

  • Takes responsibility for completing assigned trainings


Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 5 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience including progressive contract management, sourcing, supply chain, and/or related environmental science experience

  • Project Management experience

  • Premier supply chain management

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
