Job summary

Forefront is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to lead day-to-day environmental services operations in a healthcare setting. You will supervise EVS staff, oversee laundry, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive safety and quality across facilities.

Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, inventory management, and collaboration with infection prevention and other teams. This is a salaried exempt leadership role with potential for operational impact and program development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental services operations preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA CMS TJC standards and patient safety requirements is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

• Supervise EVS supervisors, technicians, and laundry staff.
• Oversee laundry operations: staffing, workflow, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CMS, and other regulations.
• Develop and monitor department schedules and productivity standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of patient/resident areas and laundry.
• Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply orders.
• Implement KPIs and track operational efficiency and service quality.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support infection prevention and safety.
• Assist Director with reporting and implementation of new initiatives.

Position Summary

The Environmental Services Manager oversees day-to-day operations of environmental services, including facility cleaning, floor care, waste management, and laundry services. This role ensures departmental compliance with regulatory standards, maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, residents, and staff, and supports the implementation of operational goals. The Manager leads front-line supervisors and associates, ensures quality service delivery, and assists and supports the Director in strategic planning, reporting, and departmental initiatives.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is a salaried exempt leadership position. Extended hours may be necessary based on operational needs.
• Salary: $55,000-$60,000/yr

Essential Functions And Duties

• Supervise and support EVS supervisors, technicians, and laundry staff.
• Oversee laundry operations, including staffing, workflow, equipment, and infection prevention practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CMS, TJC, and other applicable regulations.
• Develop and monitor departmental schedules, assignments, and productivity standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of patient/resident areas, public spaces, and laundry operations.
• Manage departmental inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply orders.
• Implement performance metrics and track KPIs for operational efficiency and service quality.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support infection prevention, patient satisfaction, and safety initiatives.
• Support the Director in preparing reports, evaluating departmental performance, and implementing new programs or initiatives.

General Responsibility As Required For Position

• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually;
