Qualifications

  • Epic certification or CIIP or equivalent certification required.
  • Five years of IT experience; nine years without a degree.
  • Experience in enterprise imaging or healthcare IT is preferred.

Default Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Hours: 40 Salary range: $49.84 - $75.71 Schedule: Full Time Shift Hours: 8 Hour employee Department: Information Systems

Job Objective

Responsible for overseeing PACS Administrators, Clinical Analysts and related staff supporting Enterprise Imaging (PACS/CPACS), Epic Radiant and Cupid and ancillary clinical applications. Directs application support, project management, system implementation, optimization and ongoing operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements and clinical workflow needs.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health, Science, Business or an additional four (4) years of applicable experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree

Preferred: Master’s degree

Licensure/Certification

Required: Epic certification, Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification or an industry-recognized systems administration certification (e.g., Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA)

Preferred: Relevant and secondary Information Technology certification(s)

Experience

Required: Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology or nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology without a bachelor’s degree

Preferred: Supervisory or management experience; experience supporting enterprise healthcare applications and imaging systems in an acute care, ambulatory or integrated healthcare environment

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, clinicians, operational leaders, vendors and Information Systems staff, Ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and accountability in decision-making and actions, Ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment, Ability to supervise, mentor, evaluate and develop team members while fostering collaboration and accountability, Ability to teach, train, mentor and develop clinical and technical staff, Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, Knowledge of application interfaces, relational databases, reporting tools and system integration concepts, Knowledge of Enterprise Imaging platforms, including Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS (CPACS), vendor neutral archives (VNA), image exchange and related imaging technologies, Knowledge of Epic clinical applications, including Radiant, Cupid and other clinical application modules, Knowledge of Windows-based systems, basic networking concepts, system administration principles and application infrastructure, Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, web-based technologies, email systems and collaboration tools, Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex application, workflow, integration and system issues, Strong facilitation, project management, organizational, change management and team-building skills, Working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and technologies, including DICOM, HL7 and FHIR

Essential Responsibilities
  • 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
  • 2. Acts as the primary liaison between EMC departments and Information Systems for Enterprise Imaging, Epic clinical applications and assigned ancillary clinical systems.
  • 3. Manages, mentors and develops Clinical Analysts, PACS Administrators and other team members supporting Enterprise Imaging, Epic Radiant, Epic Cupid and associated clinical applications.
  • 4. Manages problem resolution, change requests, system enhancements, upgrades and new implementations to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
  • 5. Identifies, evaluates and assists with planning and developing departmental requirements for future clinical applications, enterprise imaging and technology acquisitions.
  • 6. Ensures analyst and application support staff follow Project Management Office (PMO) standards, methodologies and guidelines for all projects and enhancement requests.
  • 7. Participates in the budgeting process and assists with strategic planning, forecasting and resource management for assigned applications and technologies.
  • 8. Utilizes effective leadership, communication, organizational, time management and project management skills to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • 9. Ensures appropriate resource allocation within the team, including assignment management and oversight of implementations, upgrades, special updates, maintenance activities and ongoing operational support.
  • 10. Manages application requests; reviews business, clinical and technical requirements; collaborates with technical teams, vendors and end users to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • 11. Ensures adherence to Information Security, privacy, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements across Enterprise Imaging, Epic applications and assigned clinical systems.
  • 12. Oversees integration, connectivity and interoperability between imaging modalities, Enterprise Imaging platforms, PACS/CPACS systems, Epic Radiant, Epic Cupid and other clinical applications; supports troubleshooting and resolution of complex application and workflow issues.
  • 13. Provides operational, technical and budgetary support to Radiology, Cardiology, Imaging Services, physician practices and other departments utilizing Enterprise Imaging and clinical applications.
  • 14. Works closely with executive leadership, department directors, physicians and clinical leaders on requests, project prioritization, system optimization and strategic initiatives.
  • 15. Monitors application performance, system reliability, utilization and workflow effectiveness to ensure optimal operation and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • 16. Ensures that all required documentation, procedures, workflows, system configurations, operational standards and support processes are properly maintained and updated.
  • 17. Provides leadership for the governance, standardization, optimization and adoption of Enterprise Imaging and clinical application technologies across the organization.
  • 18. Develops and maintains relationships with application vendors and strategic partners to ensure effective support, contract compliance, product roadmap alignment and achievement of organizational objectives.
  • 19. Performs other duties as assigned.
