Job Description
Manage individuals from entry-level to junior-level experience, develop and launch products, research new ideas, and manage overall design history. Focus is on both theoretical and practical solution development through the application of the scientific process and project management. Job duties include:
- Manage a group of individuals of varying technical experience from entry level to junior level on projects of defined scope and diversity.
- Direct subordinates toward clear company objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Associates across all departments in R&D, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs to achieve company objectives and resolve project issues.
- Manage multiple large-scale and/or multiple smaller-scale projects and timelines without guidance.
- Independently manage projects and timelines using established project management methodologies.
- Communicate project status and issues in a timely, clear, and appropriate manner to the organization.
- Analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposals.
- Specify and/or direct the specification and testing of new materials and designs.
- Confer with relevant departments, resources, and outside services to prepare design modifications, clarify problems, and develop designs.
- Plan and prepare quality system documentation, specifications, and detailed drawings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes, and demonstrate ethics and integrity at all organizational levels.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields such as Mechanical, Bioengineering, Electrical, Physics, Chemistry, or similar.
- Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience in the medical device industry.
- At least one (1) year of management experience.
- Experience with product development and project management of electromechanical devices.
- Experience with embedded software/firmware for medical devices.
- Proficiency with design/engineering and management software and equipment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Teams, and SolidWorks.
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related fields.
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in the medical device industry.
- Two (2) or more years of management experience.
- Experience with active implantable devices and mobile application software for medical devices.
