Job summary

Job Summary:

ZERO Prostate Cancer is seeking a strategic and data-driven Manager, Email Marketing to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of our email marketing program. This role is essential in building meaningful relationships with constituents, driving fundraising and event participation, and increasing awareness of ZERO’s mission and programs.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and manage ZERO’s organization-wide email calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic goals across fundraising, events, programs, advocacy, and awareness campaigns.
  2. Build and execute email campaigns from end to end, including content planning, segmentation, A/B testing, automation, deployment, and performance reporting.
  3. Collaborate with teams across the organization to translate their goals into engaging email campaigns with clear calls to action.
  4. Partner with the Development team to support revenue-generating initiatives, including Peer-to-Peer campaigns, Giving Days, Endurance Events, and Annual Appeals.
  5. Support the Run/Walk, Peaks and Endurance events teams with email series that drive registration, engagement, fundraising, and retention.
  6. Manage and grow email segmentation and personalization strategies to improve open and click-through rates, user journeys, and conversions.
  7. Continuously optimize subject lines, copy, design, and send times using A/B and multivariate testing.
  8. Monitor deliverability, maintain list health, and enforce best practices for CAN-SPAM compliance and privacy regulations.
  9. Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance, uncovering insights and recommending improvements.
  10. Work with marketing, communications and creative teams to ensure consistency in voice, visuals, and branding across email communications.
  11. Stay current with email marketing trends, tools, and nonprofit best practices.
  12. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  1. 4+ years of experience in email marketing, preferably in a nonprofit, cause-based, or healthcare-related environment.
  2. Proven ability to manage high-volume, high-impact email campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
  3. Experience with CRM and email marketing platforms, particularly Blackbaud solutions (including Luminate Online and Raiser’s Edge NXT), Salesforce, or similar tools.
  4. Strong understanding of segmentation, automation, A/B testing, and analytics.
  5. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for clarity, storytelling, and action-oriented messaging.
  6. Comfort with basic HTML and responsive email design principles is a plus.
  7. Familiarity with data querying tools (e.g., SQL, BigQuery) or advanced analytics platforms is a plus.
  8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  9. Collaborative spirit with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for mission-driven work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as computer printer, calculator, and copier.
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • The ability to recognize details at close range for extended periods of time.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

This role reports to the Director, Digital Marketing, and involves remote work within the U.S., with approximately 5% travel.
