Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking an EHS Manager – Plant in Rogers, AR, on-site to lead the corporate and site EHS strategy, culture and compliance for the facility. The role reports to operations leadership and requires driving EHS programs, incident prevention, and regulatory adherence.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in manufacturing EHS, strong OSHA/EPA knowledge, and a preferred CSP or equivalent certification. A BS in EHS is highly valued.

• Certified safety professional or similar certification preferred.
• Bachelor degree in Environmental, Health and Safety preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive Environmental Health and Safety strategy and compliance at the Rogers facility.
• Implement and manage EHS programs and regulatory compliance across site operations.
• Collaborate with plant leadership to define EHS roles and responsibilities for all employees.
• Oversee environmental permits, air, waste, and water compliance and document control.

Job description

EHS Manager – Plant

Location – Rogers, AR – On-site

Position Description

This position is responsible for leading and driving the corporate and site level EHS strategy, culture and compliance for the Rogers, AR facility. The EHS Manager will lead and drive EHS strategy and performance, compliance, develop and implement systems and standards across the site.

Essential Duties

• Lead and drive Environmental Health and Safety strategy and execute action plans aligned with company strategic objectives.
• Implement and drive sustainable of EHS management systems, regulatory programs, and processes to support compliance and management systems with a heavy emphasis on FSI prevention.
• Work as a part of the operations Leadership team with dotted line responsibilities to the plant manager.
• Manage all aspects of EHS compliance programs at the location with a heavy emphasis on critical safety programs as well as critical environmental permits.
• Implementation of corporate EHS standards to assure compliance with internal standards and consistency across locations.
• Work directly with the location leadership to drive a value based EHS culture and ensure clear EHS roles and responsibilities are assigned to all employees.
• Responsible for implementation and management of the EHS management systems such as Gensuite and MTS learning management systems.
• Lead EHS capital investment projects for process improvements, compliance, as well as fatality and serious injury prevention.
• Lead and manage the industrial hygiene program.
• Responsible for all aspects of environmental, including Air Permitting, Waste Management and Water compliance.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience in manufacturing setting.
• Certified safety professional or other applicable certification strongly preferred.
• Bachelors level degree in Environmental, Health and Safety is strongly preferred, but we will consider equivalent level of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge and application of OSHA/EPA requirements.
• Excellent leadership and people skills.
• Excellent communication both written and verbal.
