A Brief Overview

The Manager, Nursing has 24/7 accountability for Regional One Health Extended Care Hospital (ECH) with responsibility to manage the day-to-day clinical operations in a fiscally responsive manner, ensuring that resources, including equipment and supplies are available for the staff to care for patients. Scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, patient safety and satisfaction, staff competency and education, performance improvement, budgeting, personnel management, and physician relations. This nurse leader role works collaboratively and proactively with staff, physicians, other leaders. Serves as a professional leader and a management representative of ECH. journey. Assists the CNO on specific projects and other duties as assigned, including organizational strategies, system priorities and overall health care trends. Provides support and direct patient care as needed alongside of the rest of the nursing leadership team.

  • Provides timely and thorough performance reviews.
  • Oversees staff educatation and training. Manages the Healthstream system. Continuous Improvement:
  • Understands and uses performance management tools for staff and work groups effectively and continually.
  • Confronts behaviors that violate values or standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and organization.
  • Understands, interprets and consistently applies the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes tools, auditing processes, educational programs and decision making bodies to ensure a continuous state of regulatory and accreditation readiness.
  • Oversees QAPI and enters NHSN data. Manage Resources:
  • Able to staff appropriately and manage staff efforts effectively.
  • Understands and uses information technology.
  • Uses recruitment, motivation, and retention strategies effectively.
  • Able to lead or delegate and complete projects effectively.
  • Able to make input to and implement budgets effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Understands and uses performance management tools for staff and work groups effectively and continually.

Qualifications

  • BSN from an approved school/program. May consider ASN candidate with equivalent work (6 years) experience.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee required. Upon Hire Required
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association required. Upon Hire Required
  • At least three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in the assigned clinical area. Supervisory / Leadership experience required..
