The E-Commerce Merchandising Manager oversees planning, forecasting, and managing marketing initiatives for booked guests, including post-initiative analysis and reporting. This includes shaping promotional strategy, optimizing the website, and enhancing personalization across digital channels, and achieving pre-cruise traffic and revenue goals through effective merchandising and guest communication.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the E-Commerce marketing calendar, ensuring timely and effective campaign execution. Coordinates with the internal creative team to oversee campaign development and maintain consistency across all marketing channels.
  • Generates insights and recommendations from A/B test results to enhance campaign performance and exceed marketing objectives. Emphasizes continuous testing to refine strategies and achieve optimal results.
  • Utilizes analytics tools (e.g., Optimizely, Google Analytics) to uncover key insights, establish success metrics, analyze performance, and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance the user experience.
  • Analyzes web and email performance metrics, providing regular reports on marketing initiatives. Support ad-hoc analysis requests as needed.
  • Transforms data into actionable insights to enhance and personalize merchandising efforts, boosting ROI. Develops customized content and promotions to engage guest segments and increase conversion rates.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders from various internal business units (e.g., Shore Excursions, Spa Treatments, Bar, Dining, Retail) to plan and prioritize activities that generate incremental revenue and drive traffic to the E-Commerce website.
  • Provides guidance, feedback, and support to enhance team members' performance and engagement.
  • Reviews and improves operational metrics for booked guest series email, ensuring guests are well-prepared through pre-cruise preparation emails.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in ecommerce or relevant marketing/merchandising positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in modern web best practices, including responsive layouts and mobile-first web design
  • Experience with E-commerce CMS systems (Hybris/Sitecore a plus), web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), and A/B Testing platforms (Optimizely) Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams); and other relevant software, technologies, and applications essential for successfully performance in this role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge, understanding and expertise in email/digital design, layout, architecture and web marketing technologies, including best practices, drivers, challenges, trends, and key stakeholders.
  • Leadership Principles: Understanding of leadership styles, team dynamics, and management best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Extensive experience working with diverse teams across various departments to build consensus and achieve common goals. Strong influencing and negotiating skills to maximize opportunities for alignment with internal and external business partners.
  • Exceptional Communication: Superb verbal and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels, articulating the impact of initiatives and explaining concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prioritization: Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate the highest impact initiatives.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: A strategic thinker with strong business judgment, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple, large-scale, complex projects from ideation through deployment and keeping them on-track in a still-developing environment.
  • Compliance and Legal: Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Motivation: Inner drive to achieve goals, maintain a positive attitude, and inspire others.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% travel

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

    • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
