Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a senior Communications leader in Schertz, TX to spearhead multiple internal and external communications initiatives. You will shape messaging for executives and diverse audiences, and drive content across articles, videos, and social platforms.
The role emphasizes strategic planning, coaching leaders on effective storytelling, and delivering high-impact communications while collaborating across the organization.

Effective Communications: Ability to communicate in a variety of mediums both traditional (e.g., writing, presentations, etc.) & contemporary (e.g., visuals, video, etc.) Ability to be agile and adjust approach/strategy based on ever-developing business needs
Communicating Complex Concepts/Effective Storytelling: Ability to tell compelling stories through a variety of mediums. Ability to effectively coach and counsel divisional leaders and employees on how to form and convey compelling narratives through a variety of mediums (e.g., presentation development, story development, etc.)
Build and Leverage Interpersonal Relationships: Ability to build trust with leadership and employees
Ability to use emotional intelligence to impact decisions and initiatives
Ability to collaborate and partner with all levels of the organization to work towards a common goal
Expertise in Copywriting, Editing, & Visual Communication
Technology: Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Expertise in Advanced Creative Software & Ability to produce effective visual communications with it (Adobe CC, Final Cut Pro X, etc.). Knowledge of Video Production & Storytelling
Broadcast or Event Production & Direction Experience
Experience Influencing: Ability to coach and counsel leaders on effective communications tactics and strategies Ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization Ability to advise on techniques to build rapport and commitment to common purpose.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field, or the equivalent in on-the-job experience
Ability to create and tell stories through visual mediums (graphic design, video, etc.)
Experience delivering strategies and communications that effectively support change initiatives and alignment to organizational/business goals
Experience as a strategic communications advisor to C-level executives including writing communications and developing presentations
A proven ability to thrive within a complex, matrixed environment
The primary location for this position is Schertz, TX. Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify Sponsorship is not available Must be able to travel up to 15% (Domestic) Candidates must be able to provide samples of work (writing, graphic design, video, etc.)
Summary Pay Range: $147,760.00 - $221,640.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
