Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) seeks a Manager/Director – Transaction Tax in Minneapolis to lead tax due diligence and advisory engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions for private equity, family offices, and strategic buyers. You will collaborate with SALT, International, and Federal Tax Solutions groups while mentoring staff and managing engagement progress.

The role requires a CPA (JD or EA may be accepted in lieu) and at least five years' experience in federal, state, and international

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in federal, state, and/or international tax compliance, planning and consulting.
• CPA license is required; JD or Enrolled Agent may be accepted in lieu of CPA.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Develop client relationships by delivering tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions.
• Collaborate with specialty tax groups (SALT, International Tax, Federal Tax Solutions) as needed.
• Perform tax due diligence through review of tax returns and financial documents, and write reports.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with flexibility, autonomy, and initiative.
• Lead engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines.
• Communicate important developments to the engagement principal with facts, conclusions and recommendations.

CLA is currently seeking a Manager/Director – Transaction Tax to join our Transaction Tax practice.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Manager/Director – Transaction Tax

role:

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Develop client relationships by delivering a full range of tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other special project engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by private equity investor groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Work with CLA specialty tax groups as needed (SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions).
• Perform tax due diligence projects through a review of tax returns, legal documents, and financial statements, and write and review tax due diligence reports.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment that offers a ton of flexibility, autonomy, and the encouragement to make things happen.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines for adherence.
• Communicate important developments to the engagement principal along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience performing federal, state, and/or international tax compliance, planning, and consulting services
• CPA license certification required. A JD degree or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification may be accepted in lieu of a CPA license

The compensation range for this position in California is: $133,000.00 - $258,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Colorado is: $143,000.00 - $232,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $154,000.00 - $249,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $131,000.00 - $224,000.00
