Job summary

CLA is seeking a Manager/Director – Transaction Tax to join our Transaction Tax practice in the United States. The role emphasizes managing client relationships, leading tax due diligence, and coordinating cross-functional teams on acquisitions and dispositions for private equity, family offices, and strategic buyers.

The ideal candidate has a CPA license with 5+ years of federal/state/international tax experience, and may be considered with a JD or EA in lieu of a CPA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of federal, state, and/or international tax compliance, planning, and consulting services.
• CPA license certification required. A JD degree or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification may be accepted in lieu of a CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with new business development, existing clients and mentoring team members.
• Develop client relationships by delivering a full range of tax due diligence, structuring, modeling and other special project engagements related to acquisitions and dispositions by private equity investor groups, family offices and strategic buyers.
• Work with CLA specialty tax groups as needed (SALT, International Tax, and Federal Tax Solutions).
• Perform tax due diligence projects through a review of tax returns, legal documents, and financial statements, and write and review tax due diligence reports.
• Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment that offers a ton of flexibility, autonomy, and the encouragement to make things happen.
• Lead the engagement progress by monitoring time, budgets and deadlines for adherence.
• Communicate important developments to the engagement principal along with facts, conclusions, and recommendations.

What You Will Need

The compensation range for this position in California is: $133,000.00 - $258,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Colorado is: $143,000.00 - $232,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $131,000.00 - $232,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $154,000.00 - $249,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $131,000.00 - $224,000.00

The compensation range for this position in New York is: $171,000.00 - $258,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Viginia is: $165,000.00 - $249,000.00
