Job summary

The Manager, Digital Membership is a member of the Online Strategy team at Human Rights Campaign, supporting the production, execution, and optimization of digital fundraising, advocacy, electoral, engagement, and member recruitment campaigns.

This role focuses on audience selection, eCRM setup in Engaging Networks, landing pages, emails, copy editing, QA, launches, and performance reporting, ensuring campaigns are data-informed, compliant, and aligned with HRC messaging across channels.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Digital Membership is a member of the Online Strategy team responsible for supporting the production, execution, and optimization of digital fundraising, advocacy, electoral, engagement, and member recruitment campaigns. This role partners across HRC departments to deliver timely, accurate, and compelling digital communications that advance organizational priorities and strengthen supporter engagement.

The Manager has a strong technical and production focus, including audience selection and segmentation, eCRM campaign setup in Engaging Networks, landing page and email template creation, copy editing, quality assurance, approvals, launch execution, compliance support, and performance reporting. The position helps ensure digital campaigns are well-coordinated, data-informed, compliant, and consistent with HRC's messaging across email, SMS, advertising, mobile, and social channels.

Position Responsibilities:
Digital Campaign Production and Execution
  • Provide technical and production support for national fundraising, membership, consumer marketing, direct mail, advocacy, electoral, and engagement campaigns, including email, SMS, digital advertising, landing pages, registration forms, action pages, and related collateral.
  • Support campaign execution by building assets in Engaging Networks, coordinating approvals, routing content, testing links and forms, conducting quality assurance, preparing launching communications for launch , and helping ensure ensuring campaigns are completed on produced ahead of schedule and launched on time.
  • M aintain audience segmentation processes, list-pull documentation, targeting criteria, and standard operating procedures to support accurate and effective campaign delivery.
Cross-Functional Campaign Strategy and Coordination
  • Serve as a day-to-day coordination point between Online Strategy and partner departments, including HRC Shop, Federal Club, Leadership Giving, Equality Programs, Membership, Campaigns, and other teams, to help align messaging, timing, and production needs.
  • Work with Online Strategy leadership, campaign teams, and membership teams to support the implementation of digital political, advocacy, fundraising, and supporter engagement plans, including GOTV, volunteer recruitment, event registration, and member acquisition efforts.
  • Support the maintenance of digital communications calendars by tracking deadlines, campaign timing, production status, and scheduling needs across fundraising, advocacy, and engagement communications.
Data, Reporting, Testing, and Optimization Support
  • Track campaign metrics, compile performance results, prepare reports, and share observations support fundraising, advocacy, engagement, and recruitment efforts .
  • Assist with testing, data review, segmentation updates, and campaign analysis to help identify trends , and support recommendations for improving campaign.
  • Maintain accurate records of campaign performance, audience selections, testing results, and reporting materials for team reference and future planning.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
  • Ensure PCI DSS compliance across donation pages and assist with quarterly ASV scan coordination to help maintain compliance requirements.
  • Review campaign content, links, forms, templates, audience selections, approvals, and launch materials to support accuracy, consistency, compliance, and readiness before deployment.
  • Help identify and resolve production issues by coordinating with Online Strategy leadership, internal partners, and relevant vendors or technical contacts as needed.
Team and Project Ownership and Team Support
  • Provide production, coordination, and administrative support for priority fundraising, advocacy, electoral, and engagement projects for Online Strategy leadership and campaign teams.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of HRC's program work and development operations by participating in relevant meetings and tracking organizational priorities that may affect digital campaign production .
  • Support onboarding, training, and day-to-day coordination for the Online Strategy intern when an intern is assigned to the team.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and at least three years of experience in online engagement, digital fundraising, political campaigns, advocacy campaigns, or digital campaign development and execution.
  • Technical and analytical experience using a membership database, eCRM, or similar digital campaign platform.
  • Experience managing campaign data, audience segmentation, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and quality assurance skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and respond quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical solutions in a fast-paced campaign environment.
  • Ability to research and identify current trends in digital engagement, fundraising, advocacy, and LGBTQ+ equality work.
  • Flexibility with work schedule, including occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of the rapidly changing LGBTQ+ equality movement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Engaging Networks or a comparable eCRM platform.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, HTML editors, email production tools, SMS platforms, digital organizing tools such as Mobilize America, and project management platforms such as monday.com.
  • Experience supporting PCI DSS compliance, ASV scanning, donation pages, or digital fundraising operations.
  • Experience using testing, segmentation, and campaign analytics to improve digital campaign performance.

All positions at the Human Rights Campaign may require travel on a regular basis or periodically. Where the need arises for business travel, appropriate compensation as outlined by the Fair Labor Standards Act will apply.
