Job Description

The Department and Clinical Operations Manager for the Divisions of Generalists, Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), Urogynecology (Urogyn), Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Gynecologic Oncology (GynOnc), and Research is responsible for overseeing the operational, administrative, clinical, and research activities of the divisions and associated academic and research programs.

This role ensures compliance with all institutional policies and procedures, supports clinical, educational, and research operations, identifies opportunities for program growth, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance the strategic priorities of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Direct the operational and administrative functions of the Divisions of Generalists, MFM, Urogyn, REI, GynOnc, and Research.
• Provide administrative leadership to support efficient division and departmental operations.
• Ensure compliance with School of Medicine, Campus, and University policies and procedures.
• Oversee timely completion of required training modules, faculty and staff evaluations, and compliance requirements.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, operational workflows, and process improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with division leadership to identify operational needs, resolve administrative challenges, and improve overall efficiency.
• Partner with the Lead Financial Analyst and Director on financial matters related to operations, providing operational insight and supporting financial planning and decision-making.

Research Operations Leadership

• Develop and implement departmental plans and priorities to support short- and long-term research objectives across the divisions and research programs.
• Serve as a key departmental resource for research compliance questions and operational issues.
• Oversee research-related accounts, revenues, and expenses, including management of grant-funded salary allocations.
• Partner with School of Medicine and campus research administration to ensure a compliant and sustainable research program focused on growth.
• Monitor and advise on research space, infrastructure, equipment, and resource needs across the department.
• Assist principal investigators (PIs) with grant proposal development and submission, including budget preparation and resource planning.
• Support the development and implementation of processes that promote research productivity, collaboration, and program growth.

Clinical Operations

• Identify market opportunities and support outreach initiatives to expand clinical programs, services, and awareness across the divisions.
• Address referral access challenges and clinical scheduling barriers to improve patient access and clinic utilization.
• Monitor and analyze clinical productivity reports and operational metrics.
• Work with division leadership to address operational challenges and align clinical productivity with departmental strategic priorities.
• Evaluate clinical workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, access, quality, and patient experience.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to support effective utilization of clinical resources.

Growth and Strategic Development

• Partner with the Senior Director and division leadership to develop and implement strategic business plans for the divisions and associated academic, clinical, and research programs.
• Conduct business analyses to support program expansion, new service development, and operational improvements.
• Lead implementation of innovative clinical and operational initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to enhance clinical services, research programs, and academic activities across the department.
• Support programmatic growth across the clinical, research, and educational missions of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop partnerships and initiatives that advance departmental strategic priorities.
• Monitor industry, clinical, and operational trends and make recommendations to departmental leadership regarding opportunities for growth and improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a health or business related field.
