Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking a Manager, Demand Planning to join our growing Supply Chain team in our Bethesda, MD office. The role shapes demand planning strategy using advanced tools and cross-functional collaboration, building forecasting processes and driving improvements in inventory management and sales performance.

You will develop and refine forecast models, align inputs with Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Finance, and influence decisions through data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting or inventory planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and influencing internal partners.

Responsibilities

  • Build statistical forecast models using the o9 planning system and serve as a SME on its Demand Planning module.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Finance to align on demand inputs and forecast accuracy.
  • Champion development of demand plans across items, categories, and planning levels to meet KPIs.
  • Align demand planning with Integrated Business Planning for consensus-building and decision-making.
  • Lead root cause analysis for forecast variances and translate insights into process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Manage demand planning activities for new product launches, line extensions, and discontinuations.
  • Influence internal stakeholders by communicating trends, risks, and opportunities from data analytics.
  • Promote continuous improvement of demand planning workflows and cross-functional coordination.

You will
  • Build statistical forecast models using the o9 planning system and serve as a subject matter expert on its Demand Planning module.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Finance to align on demand inputs and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Champion the development of demand plans across items, categories, and planning levels that meet KPIs such as forecast accuracy and in-stock rates.
  • Align demand planning processes with Integrated Business Planning efforts, supporting consensus-building and strategic decision-making.
  • Spearhead root cause analysis for forecast variances and translate insights into process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Manage demand planning activities for new product launches, line extensions, and product discontinuations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Influence internal stakeholders by communicating trends, risks, and opportunities derived from large-scale data analysis and forecasting metrics.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to demand planning workflows and cross-functional coordination.
You will come with
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting or inventory planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • High attention to detail and understanding of demand drivers across interdependent product categories.
  • Experience in process development and improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with o9 is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and strategic thinking with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
