Job summary

Reliance, Inc. seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee daily plant delivery drivers and ensure timely customer deliveries. The role requires a Utah CDL and medical card, a clean driving record, and solid knowledge of FMCSA regulations.

You will train drivers on pre-trip inspections, validate load paperwork, and maintain driver compliance while coordinating routes and pickups as needed. Strong communication with customers and vendors is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Utah CDL Driver License and Medical Card.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Understanding of FMCSA regulations for Commercial Motor Vehicles.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Basic communication skills for dealing with customers, vendors, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily management of all plant delivery drivers to ensure timely deliveries to Reliance customers
• Train delivery drivers to perform a pre-trip truck inspection and verify load paperwork
• Match up paperwork when drivers return from delivery
• Coordinate route planning for next day deliveries to optimize truck/driver usage
• Maintain driver compliance paperwork and logs
• Coordinate pick up of material from customers when needed
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and arrange repairs as needed
• Coach driving using SMART Drive and ensure adherence to company policies

Job Summary

Reliance is a steel service center; the main focus of this job is being able to properly operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle, (CMV) as well as knowing how to properly secure a load on a flatbed trailer. Must understand all the requirements per the FMCSA

Job Function

• Oversee daily management of all plant delivery drivers to ensure timely deliveries to RMC customers
• Train delivery drivers to perform a pre-trip truck inspection, quality check loaded material against load paperwork, properly secure the load and help them to correct any problems prior to leaving Reliance
• Ability to problem solve issues with drivers, routes, trucks and customer as delivery drivers complete their routes
• Match up paperwork when the drivers return from delivery
• Route deliveries for next day delivery to ensure the optimal truck/driver usage
• Maintain paperwork for Driver compliance
• Maintain random drug screens and DOT Physicals required for CDL Drivers
• Call the Shipping Office when deliveries are complete or when problems are encountered
• Coordinate pick up of material from customers when needed
• Maintain back orders to ensure they are shipped timely
• Fill-lout/Complete Log Books and Trip Sheets daily
• Monitor Geo Tab daily
• Coach driving using SMART Drive
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Generate Bills of Lading from Sales Orders
• Monitor GEO Tab Daily
• Coach driving using SMART Drive

Perform Pre/Post inspections of truck and trailer. If any issues are found take to approved vendor for repairs. Work in warehouse assisting other departments

Required Skills

Must have a working knowledge of all regulations pertaining to operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle based on the FMCSA
