Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Data Scientist (DS) who excels at solving complex problems using cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and advanced statistical techniques. This role requires a strong technical skillset and the ability to design, build, and deploy predictive models to inform business decisions and foster innovation.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement advanced data science models, including clustering, segmentation, random forest, gradient boosting (e.g., XGBoost), ensemble techniques, and constrained optimization methods.
  2. Explore additional approaches such as neural networks, support vector machines, and Bayesian methods to address diverse business challenges.
  3. Design and execute matched-pair analyses, predictive analytics, and other statistical approaches to solve business problems.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify use cases for modeling and provide data-driven solutions.
  5. Engineer features and preprocess data to optimize model performance and interpretability.
  6. Work with large, diverse datasets, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  7. Perform model evaluation, tuning, and validation using appropriate metrics.
  8. Deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  9. Mentor and collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  10. Stay current with advancements in data science, tools, and methodologies to bring innovation to the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a data scientist or similar role
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience in libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data preprocessing techniques
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Ability to handle complex datasets and derive actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Experience deploying models into production is highly desirable

This position is based in or reports to our operations in New York State. The starting salary range is $133,661.00 to $190,944.00 per year, based on skills and experience. This range is indicative and may vary at the time of hire.
