Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manager - Azure Data Operations to support our growing data organization. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing data pipelines and related infrastructure across both on-premise and Azure cloud platforms. You will collaborate closely with global teams to drive DataOps practices, ensure platform reliability, and support the scalable delivery of enterprise data solutions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in Azure data services, operational support, and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities
- Support data pipelines and platforms (on-prem and cloud) while collaborating with global teams on DataOps initiatives.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of data pipelines, ensuring governance, reliability, and performance on Microsoft Azure, with hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and real-time streaming architectures.
- Ensure availability, scalability, automation, and governance of enterprise data pipelines supporting analytics, AI/ML, and BI.
- Support DataOps programs, aligning with business objectives, data governance, and enterprise strategy.
- Implement real-time data observability, monitoring, and automation frameworks to improve data reliability and operational efficiency.
- Develop governance models and execution roadmaps across data platforms including Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-prem environments.
- Work on CI/CD integration, data pipeline automation, and self-healing capabilities to enhance data operations.
- Collaborate on building next-generation Data & Analytics platforms and foster a high-performing DataOps team.
- Support technology transformations, ensuring sustainment capabilities and automation for issue resolution.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, best practices, and operational excellence.
- Support the implementation and optimization of data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics.
- Manage end-to-end data workflows, ensuring data reliability, integrity, and availability.
- Ensure seamless batch, real-time, and streaming data processing with high availability and fault tolerance.
- Contribute to DataOps automation initiatives, including CI/CD, automated testing, and version control using Azure DevOps, Terraform, and IaC.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML, CloudOps, and BI teams to enable data-driven decisions.
- Work with IT, data stewards, and compliance teams to align practices with regulatory and security standards.
- Support data operations and sustainment, including testing and monitoring for global projects.
- Assist in data capture, storage, governance, and analytics initiatives, collaborating across teams.
- Manage daily DataOps activities, meeting SLAs and business requirements.
- Engage with SMEs and stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Participate in Agile processes to support data platform execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and data services.
- Develop operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and resilience.
- Support incident response and root cause analysis, contributing to self-healing mechanisms.
- Foster a customer-centric environment focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Build a collaborative, high-performing team culture emphasizing automation and efficiency in DataOps.
- Adapt to shifting priorities and support teams in maintaining productivity and meeting goals.
- Leverage technical expertise to improve service reliability and scalability.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $106,400 - $178,100, based on skills, experience, and location.
- Bonus potential: 12% of annual salary, performance-based.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related.
- 8+ years in technology roles within large-scale global organizations, preferably in CPG industry.
- 8+ years in Data & Analytics, with hands-on data operations and governance experience.
- 5+ years working with cross-functional IT teams.
- 2+ years in management or lead roles focusing on DataOps.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure SQL Database.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of structured/semi-structured data formats (Parquet, JSON, Delta).
Nice-to-have skills include scripting (Python, Shell), observability tools, workflow automation tools, data catalog tools, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
