MANAGER CREDIT - SPECIALTY BANKING

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Key contributor in the loan management process by providing credit and loan underwriting expertise to a team of Specialty Banking Relationship Managers and Credit Officers. Supervises a Specialty Banking Credit Officer teams. For new business development and the management of the existing client portfolios, the Credit Manager will analyze prospective and existing loan transactions and the credit worthiness of new and existing clients. Will provide recommendations and guidance regarding proposed credits and potential risks. Ensures all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough before credit approval is granted.

What you will do

  1. Manage workflow and priorities of the Credit team, assigning work based on experience, availability, and portfolio complexity.
  2. Provide technical guidance and review work of less experienced Credit Officers and Analysts.
  3. Assist team in research, credit structuring, and financial analysis for complex accounts.
  4. Respond to inquiries concerning credit policies, procedures, and structuring.
  5. Manage performance, give feedback, and conduct performance appraisals.
  6. Train, coach, and develop team members.
  7. Assist in departmental reporting and portfolio reviews.
  8. Provide credit guidance and collaborate on credit strategy.
  9. Review and approve credit approval memoranda and monitor client financial conditions.
  10. Coordinate with Credit Administration and Risk teams for credit decisions and strategy.
  11. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending policies and regulations.
  12. Participate in portfolio projects and policy amendments.
  13. Ensure quality controls and uphold the bank's ethical standards and client-first culture.

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent + 10 years of Corporate/Commercial Credit experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of credit policies, financial analysis, and industry familiarity.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Compensation

Starting salary: $141,830 - $263,408 per year, with potential bonuses or commissions based on skills, experience, and location.
