Job Description:
SUMMARY
Manages and coordinates schedules, day-to-dayoperations, outreach, student onboarding processes, and support initiativeswithin a full-service campus Counseling department at the assigned Campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinatesand monitors Counseling Office at the assigned campus
- Determinesappropriate staffing ratios to ensure the department is appropriatelystaffed to facilitate high-quality student service during all hours ofoperation and during peak service periods
- AdjustsCounselor work schedules based on day-to-day needs and events, while alsoadhering to full-time Counselors’ contractual obligations
- Promotesavailable services to students to ensure student awareness and usage
- Monitorsstudents’ progression through the new student onboarding process,conducting outreach as necessary to connect incoming students to initialCounseling appointments and other support services
- Remainscurrent on College, community and professional matters related to studentsuccess, student services, academic advising, and counseling
- Workswith faculty and staff to promptly address customer service concerns andservice requests within the counseling and student services areas
- Develops,recommends, and implements procedures and processes that facilitateefficient office operation
- Maintainsrelationships with other College departments including campus studentsuccess teams
- Workswith the Academic Dean to plan and staff General (GEN) Studies courses andattends meetings regarding GEN classes
- Participatesin meetings, workshops, and conferences as directed
- Takesthe lead on special projects as assigned by the Dean and/or Assistant Dean
- Alignsresources or directly fulfills outreach requests to meet Campusenrollment, persistence, and student success goals
- Usesdata and research to inform planning and practice while enhancing studentservices and processes
- Workswith the Dean and/or Assistant Dean to create the counseling departmentbudget, monitor, and organize departmental purchases and to coordinate useof resources with other student service providers throughout the collegeand community
- Developsand writes proposals and reports
- Ensuresprogram compliance with College policies and procedures and U.S.Department of Education regulations
- Processes,assigns, and directs work, evaluates performance, facilitates professionaldevelopment for counselors and staff, initiates disciplinary action andconducts grievance meetings in accordance with College procedures asnecessary
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling, and ensuring the quality of the work of others
- Demonstrated experience planning, preparing, and monitoring a business area’s budget
- Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Target Starting Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
