Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Corporate Security Manager to oversee security risk recognition, assessment and control across field locations, including FMS and SCS sites.

The role leads investigations, designs security systems for startups and existing sites, drives compliance, trains field teams and partners with law enforcement to reduce risk and protect assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminology or related field.
  • 5+ years in general corporate security experience including loss prevention, security risk analysis, security audits and investigations.
  • Knowledge of security systems (intrusion, access control, video).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and online services.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate security issues at field locations and recommend effective solutions.
  • Conduct investigations and guide field operations to root causes of thefts, frauds or other acts of violence in the workplace.
  • Assist Corporate Audit and Compliance with internal investigations.
  • Design and implement security systems for new start-ups and existing field locations.
  • Monitor and track performance of field locations and provide updates to leadership.
  • Identify poor performing operations and ensure corrective actions.
  • Manage compliance with Ryder and customer security requirements.
  • Support new customer start-ups in security process design and management.
  • Provide security training programs for field operations and coach managers.
  • Act as liaison with local law enforcement in investigations and prosecutions.
  • Reduce cost of risk and stolen goods.

Job description

Job Description: Summary The Corporate Security Manager is responsible for providing assistance to field locations in the recognition, assessment and control of security risks. The position supports both Fleet Management Solutions (FMS) and Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) locations within their geographic scope, as well as new business start-ups and office/administrative locations.

Essential Functions
  • Evaluate security issues at field locations and recommend effective solutions.
  • Conduct investigations and provide guidance and support to field operations to find root causes of thefts, frauds or other acts of violence in the workplace.
  • Assist Corporate Audit and Compliance with internal investigations.
  • Design and implement effective security systems for new start-ups and existing field locations.
  • Monitor and track performance of field locations and provide performance updates to the operational leadership teams and the Sr. Manager Corporate Security.
  • Identify poor performing operations and non-compliance issues and ensure that corrective actions are in place to achieve desired performance.
  • Manage, improve and monitor compliance with Ryder and customer security requirements.
  • Monitor new business start-up activity and provide support to new customer start-ups in the design and implementation of effective security processes and management.
  • Provide security training programs for the field operations and coach field location managers in improving security performance.
  • Act as liaison with local law enforcement in the investigation, arrest and prosecution of individuals committing crimes against Ryder.
  • Impact bottom line by reducing the company's cost of risk and cost of stolen goods.
  • Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminology or related field.
  • Required 5 years or more in General corporate security experience inclusive of loss prevention, security risk analysis, security audits and investigations.
  • Required Knowledge of security systems, including intrusion detection (burglar alarms), access control, video surveillance Advanced.
  • Required Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications as well as the use of on-line web based services Advanced.
  • Required Travel - 20% - 30% (remote otherwise).
  • Bonus - Target 10%.

Compensation Information

Pay Type: Salaried Minimum Pay Range: 75,000 Maximum Pay Range: 85,000
