Tampa Electric is seeking a Manager Contract & Purchasing to lead procurement for goods, services and major equipment, aligning with policy and ethics. You will guide a team (6+) and drive sourcing, contract development and vendor due diligence.

Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. The Mgr Contract & Purchasing manages the procurement function for the acquisition of ordinary goods, services, and major engineered equipment, as required by company policy, in accordance with sound business practices to achieve the best value for the business while adhering to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. Responsible for team leadership, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract development/negotiation, vendor due diligence, compliance, risk and cost management, KPI setting and attainment, and development of appropriate P2P policies and procedures. Responsible for approximately one-third of the organization’s PO spend, coordinating activities with others within contract and purchasing to ensure the procurement needs of the entire organization are achieved.
Direct Supervision: Leads a team of direct reports (6+) including Contract Administrators, Buyers, and other Procurement team members
Key Internal: Interfaces with all levels of management and team members in all company and corporate departments.
Key External: Interfaces with other companies and their employees at all levels, including contractors,
suppliers, manufacturers, utility providers, public agencies to include City, County and
State government, external auditors and other companies as needed to support TECO
Energy companies.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain
