RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Manager, Contracts for the Shipboard Missiles Sub-Strategic Business Unit. The role manages a $500M+ contract portfolio for the ESSM program, an international consortium with U.S. and NATO partners, on-site in Tucson.

You will lead negotiations, guide contracting strategy, and oversee proposal development, with travel required. A senior background in FAR/DFARS and strategic relationship management is essential.

Position: Manager, Contracts – Shipboard Missiles Sub‑Strategic Business Unit

Location

Tucson, Arizona (on‑site)

Overview

Responsible for managing a growing $500M+ contract portfolio for the Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) program, an international consortium involving U.S. and NATO partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to establish mutually beneficial relationships and influence business decisions.
• Investigate and resolve complex contractual matters using critical thinking, gathering detailed information, and proposing innovative contracting techniques.
• Provide strategic advice on contractual rights, obligations, regulations, and policies to mitigate risk and prevent unauthorized changes.
• Develop pre‑negotiation objectives and implement negotiation strategy reviews as part of proposal development.
• Lead complex negotiations and represent the company independently on significant transactions while maintaining trusting relationships with customers.
• Support and lead the proposal development process, including FAR and DFARS compliance.
• Occasional domestic and international travel.

Required Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with FAR and DFARS.
• Experience in the development of proposals and negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to shape results, communicate effectively, and influence leadership.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with complex customers.
• Teamwork experience and ability to develop relationships based on respect and trust.
• Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
• Experience managing large, international, multi‑faced strategic contracts.

Compensation

Salary range: 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD.

Security Clearance

Secret (DoD) clearance required; U.S. citizenship required.
