Communications & Enterprise Marketing (CEM) at Cardinal Health is responsible for the development and implementation of public, social and media relations, brand, digital operations, and executive communications strategies to advance business and reputation goals. CEM encompasses brand journalism, public relations and awareness building strategies, national, trade and social media relations, thought leadership, crisis communications, reputation and issues management, website development, executive communications, and enterprise brand.
Communications Business Partners engage various internal audiences in the purpose and priorities of Cardinal Health, key initiatives and strategies with the goal of accelerating company performance. This job family develops and distributes print-based and digital communications including corporate policy manuals, internal newsletters, process handbooks, and function-specific documents created in collaboration with subject matter experts. This job family evaluates employee engagement with internal communications and liaises with leaders to ensure dissemination of communications.
This position, primarily focused on internal communications, is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies and tactics to engage employees and stakeholders in support of business strategies and initiatives. The role applies communication principles and practices, contributing to the communications strategies for the Digital and Technology Services team (with a strong emphasis on AI initiatives) and the Information Security team (with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity initiatives) within the Global Technology and Business Services (GTBS) organization.
Manages a Consultant, Communications Business Partner, who also supports Digital and Technology Services team and the Information Security team within the Global Technology and Business Services (GTBS) organization, in addition to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) initiatives
Collaborates with executive leaders and other business partners to develop and implement strategic communication plans that reflect the company’s mission, values, brand and priorities all while mitigating risk
Seeks and maintains comprehensive understanding of the businesses/functions
Collaborates with communications partners across Cardinal Health Communications & Enterprise Marketing to follow consistent communications processes, protocols and reporting standards
Develops processes and protocols for existing and new initiatives and programs, primarily the promotion of events and other engagement activities
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with the company’s outside agencies and/or consultants, as needed
Creates and coordinates internal announcements and change management communications
Supports communication of technology issues and outages, known as TechAlerts
Creates and manages content for internal channels (intranet, viva engage, digital signage, huddle guides, etc.)
Supports internal cultural and engagement initiatives
Content development and events/AV logistical planning for executive events (Town Halls, Let’s Chat sessions, etc.)
Coordinates, creates and publishes content for weekly newsletters across the business
Ideates social content using both internal and external sources in collaboration with corporate partners
Coordinates business unit/function social initiatives with Enterprise social media team
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
6+ years of experience in communications, public relations or related field preferred
Experienceinglobalcommunicationsa plus, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across regions.
