Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Manager, Communications in Los Angeles to lead product and brand storytelling for Snapchat and SPECS. You will translate complex technical updates into clear narratives and partner with Product, Marketing, Policy, Legal, and executives to shape proactive campaigns.

You will build strong media relationships, craft messaging for diverse audiences, and coach leaders for media moments while advancing Snap’s mission and values in a fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for a Manager, Communications to join our team in Los Angeles. This person will be a versatile member of the Product Comms team, helping tell the story of Snapchat, SPECS, and other major product initiatives. This is a hands‑on role for someone who likes to get into the details, move quickly, and jump in wherever needed to get the work done.

What you’ll do:

Develop and execute communications strategies for major products, features, launches, and initiatives across Snapchat and SPECS. Identify proactive stories that show how people use and experience our products, and help build broader understanding of what makes Snap distinctive. Build strong relationships with consumer, technology, business, and culture reporters and develop creative ways to earn attention beyond individual launches. Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Partnerships, Policy, Legal, and other teams to develop coordinated campaigns and communications around major company priorities. Draft messaging, Newsroom posts, FAQs, pitches, briefing materials, and other communications, and prepare executives and spokespeople for media and industry moments. Move fluidly across priorities, including proactive storytelling, launches, partnerships, safety and other emerging issues where the team needs support.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong consumer and product communications instincts, with a track record of making technology relevant and interesting to broad audiences. Strong media relationships and good judgment about what makes a compelling story. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to distill complicated ideas into clear, memorable messages. Creative, curious, and culturally aware, with an interest in technology, consumer behavior, and how products fit into people’s lives. Deep understanding of cultural trends and relevance, with a strong ability to weave cultural moments and consumer behavior into compelling product narratives. Comfortable working independently and moving quickly across multiple priorities in a fast‑changing environment. Strong cross‑functional skills and experience working closely with Product, Marketing, Legal, Policy, and senior leaders. Collaborative hands‑on and low‑ego mindset with proven experience building impactful relationships and executing strategic partner initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience. 8+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, product communications, or a related field, preferably within consumer technology, media, entertainment, or another fast‑moving consumer business.

Compensation
  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $157,000-$235,000 annually.
  • Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $149,000-$223,000 annually.
  • Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $133,000-$200,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
