Cedars-Sinai seeks a Manager for the COACH for Kids mobile clinic to lead program development and daily operations serving underserved pediatric communities in South Los Angeles. You will manage staff, budgets, and partnerships to deliver care and education through community sites and schools.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) plus years of experience in a Community Health setting.
  • Two (2) plus years of Supervisor/Management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health or a related field.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and operations of community health programs for pediatric patients.
  • Oversee budget development and ongoing budget oversight.
  • Manage staff teams and interns, including scheduling and performance.
  • Foster partnerships with community organizations and external stakeholders.

The Cedars-Sinai COACH (Community Outreach Assistance for Children's Health) for Kids mobile medical clinic is dedicated to meeting the immediate medical, behavioral health and community needs of pediatric patients in South Los Angeles who historically have been underserved in these areas. COACH for Kids provides free transitional medical care and social support services while connecting patients and their families to integrated quality healthcare and other community resources. Services are provided in the community Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and periodically on weekends. Service sites include schools, places of worship, public housing developments, WIC (women, infants and children) centers, Head Start centers and other community agencies. Services are provided within the Cedars-Sinai Community Benefit Service area, including Central and South Los Angeles, Watts and Crenshaw.

What will you be doing in this role:

The Manager, COACH for Kids is responsible for developing, building and operationalizing community health program(s). This is accomplished through the management of efforts that are aligned with Cedars-Sinai's Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation Strategy to serve disadvantaged and vulnerable community members through direct services, education and expanded health resources.

Responsible for leading the development of the budget and providing ongoing budget oversight. Oversees daily operations, including building staff teams and managing both staff and interns. Designs, develops, and implements programs, along with all elements of program infrastructure such as assessment, intervention, and measurement. Leads and executes strategies for external and community-based partnerships and engagement. Establishes and manages processes for evaluation, monitoring, tracking, and data analysis. Identifies and addresses barriers to implementation, troubleshoots challenges, and develops solutions. Fosters and maintains internal partnerships while strengthening staff capacity for program assessment and intervention.

  • Manages a team of professionals focused on providing pediatric care to patients and their families in vulnerable communities throughout Los Angeles
  • Connects individuals and families to primary care providers, dental care, and behavioral health sciences with a goal of making sure that each family encountered COACH for Kids has a medical home; connects individuals and families to community-based service providers for assistance with identified health-related social needs.
  • Works with electronic health records, utilizing data to modify schedules and planning
  • Manages collaboration between Cedars-Sinai and community partners to implement initiatives and events that address community health and drive positive outcomes. Represent Cedars-Sinai by sharing priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reports data. Adjusts program services based on impact metrics.
  • Travel to community and school partner sites to evaluate program and educators as well as to conduct classes.
Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Five (5) plus years of experience in

a Community Health setting

Educational/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in

Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health or a related field.

Certified Health Education Specialist, preferred.
