Qualifications

Position Summary

The Manager, Clinical Services provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for centralized clinical support functions across all markets and practice locations within the organization. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's Pathology Coordination, Patient Triage, and Biologics Programs, ensuring consistent workflows, exceptional patient service, and operational excellence across multiple states.

The Manager oversees teams responsible for pathology result communication, patient triage and care coordination, biologic medication management, specialty pharmacy coordination, prior authorizations, appeals, renewals, and patient assistance programs. Working closely with dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, advanced practice providers, and operational leaders, this individual ensures timely patient care, efficient clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
Preferred Dermatology-Specific Experience
  • Strong understanding of dermatology diagnoses, pathology reporting, treatment plans, and patient follow-up requirements.
  • Knowledge of Mohs surgery scheduling, pathology workflows, referrals, and surgical coordination.
  • Experience managing teams working on biologics medications
  • Understanding of specialty medication prior authorization processes, appeals, renewals, and payer requirements.
  • Familiarity with dermatopathology reporting workflows and critical result communication processes.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, and specialty pharmacy reimbursement requirements related to dermatology services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to build and scale centralized teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of dermatology, practice operations and patient care coordination.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct management experience overseeing clinical support, patient coordination, scheduling, and authorizations.
  • Experience managing large teams and supporting growth initiatives across multiple practice locations.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing patient triage, pathology result communication, surgical scheduling, and prior authorization workflows.
  • Experience supporting Mohs surgery, dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, and general dermatology operations preferred.
  • Extensive experience with biologic medications, specialty pharmacy management, patient assistance programs, and payer authorization requirements.
  • Experience working with dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
  • Proven success implementing standardized workflows, performance metrics, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with provider communication, change management, and physician relations.
