Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Manager of Clinical Research Programs to lead day-to-day operations of a research team supporting PI-led studies at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. The role expects strategic planning, compliance oversight, and talent development to advance pediatric clinical research.

Responsibilities include budgeting, cross-functional collaboration, and implementing research initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4–5 years related work experience with 1 year of leadership experience
• ACRP Certified Professional (ACRP-CP) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification required
• Recommended: Advanced degree or additional certifications in clinical research
• Experience in leading research programs and understanding of regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Develops annual work plans to achieve goals and performance metrics; manages team performance and internal processes.
• Works on system-wide research initiatives; serves as SME to stakeholders on protocol requirements and problem-solving across clinical, logistical, financial and regulatory areas.
• Manages resource allocation, budgets and financial performance of the assigned team; collaborates with stakeholders to support research activities.
• Acts as a role model and champion for the research mission; participates in leadership activities and ongoing education.
• Applies new knowledge to practice and shares expertise with research personnel; uses communications tools to stay informed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Manager Clinical Research Programs is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a functional team accountable for supporting clinical research programs and/or studies conducted by Principal Investigators (PIs) at Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. Achieves functional objectives while developing individuals and teams and ensuring team effectiveness, including but not limited to, with process maintenance and definition of team norms.

• 1. Develops annual work plans used to achieve goals and performance metrics. Evaluates team performance and defines and maintains internal processes. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Accountable for managing entire employee lifecycle of team, including hiring, development, performance management, discipline and termination. Accountable for the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence of departmental strategies, policies, procedures and best practices. Monitors overall compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies.
• 2. Works on projects and system wide research initiatives. Serves as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders regarding protocol requirements and problem-solving related to clinical, logistical, financial and/or regulatory issues, as well as with programs, processes and best practices. Establishes customer service standards and addresses operational and customer service escalations. Serves as a champion of system-wide culture, influencing culture change to support institutional objectives
