Purpose:
The Clinical Informatics Manager is responsible for overseeing the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision-making in all roles and settings. In collaboration with the Director, Clinical and Operational Informatics (DCOI), the manager will assist in oversight of the education, planning, development, design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing evaluation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and all healthcare IT systems, electronic applications, and interfaces. Examples include, but not limited to: Cerner, EPIC, Tele-Tracking, Tele-Sitter, Sunquest, Responder Nurse Call and other clinical applications / software. Serves as a clinical liaison for all portions of the EMR that impact clinical processes and patient care. This responsibility includes 24/7 accountability in collaboration with the DCOI to directly supervise and evaluate the performance of department's staff within a given region for the department of Clinical Informatics.
Responsibilities:
- 1. Management: Manage the daily operations of the clinical informatics team. Measures, monitors, evaluates job performance and competencies of Informatics staff.2. Project Management: Oversee informatics projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.3. Implementation: Oversee the implementation and optimization of clinical information systems and technology applications.4. Training & Support: Provide training and support to staff in the use of clinical information systems.5. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure integration and alignment of informatics initiatives. Supports system processes and strives for strategic system alignment.
- 6. Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures for the use of clinical information systems.7. Quality Improvement: Use data to drive quality improvement initiatives.8. Role model: Takes action to improve knowledge, skills and performance based on feedback or on self-identified developmental needs and provides similar feedback to co-workers.9. Communication: Facilitate communication between IT and hospital operations to ensure that technology solutions meet the needs of clinicians and patients. 10. Clinical Competence: Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or (BS) Health Related Field Required, Relevant master's degree preferred.2. Strong leadership and communication skills.3. Knowledge of healthcare informatics principles and practices.4. Proficiency in using healthcare technology and clinical information systems.5. Ability to manage a team effectively.6. Certification in Informatics required within 3 years of informatics employment.7. Minimum of 4 years of clinical/informatics experience, with at least 1 year of progressive leadership experience.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clinical professionals who have a state-regulated license shall be expected to maintain their license in good standing while employed in this role. ANCC Nursing Informatics or CPHIMS certification preferred (required within 3 years of informatics employment).
