Job summary

The Wonderful Company is seeking a Manager, Category Development in Los Angeles, CA. The role partners with Sales and Marketing to deliver actionable, data-based guidance for growing our premium food and beverage brands.

As a cross-functional, analytical storyteller, you will develop insights, present to leadership, and drive evidence-based decision making across categories, channels, and accounts. This hybrid role reports to the Sr. Director, Category Development.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical problem-solving abilities with data integration across multiple sources.
• Ability to present data-driven insights clearly to sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
• Proven track record of turning analytics into actionable business recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfort with creating visual storytelling in PowerPoint and dashboards.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Category Development delivers actionable insights and develops fact-based customer facing analysis and deliverables for The Wonderful Company’s brands. They partner with our Sales and Marketing organizations to provide strategic guidance to help grow our premium food and beverage portfolio. They use data to identify opportunities, new ways of work, and make actionable recommendations.

The Manager, Category Development is analytical, data-driven, a creative storyteller and cross-functional partner who helps make a tangible impact on company success. They are part of the Category Development team and report to the Sr. Director, Category Development.

This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with anin-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.

The mission of the team is to drive profitable growth by understanding The Wonderful Company’s categories, customers, and consumers better than any of our competitors. The Sr. Manager is a key member of the team and is responsible for the following objectives:

• Use data to develop insights and recommendations that can be leveraged for key initiatives, including for use in selling stories.
• Analyze, understand, and provide thought leadership – for category, our brands, competition, assigned channels, and accounts.
• Present actionable insights to sales managers, retail buyers and other internal cross-functional partners.
• Establish partnerships with brand, trade, and sales personnel across all TWC business units.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; ability to integrate multiple data sets to identify opportunities and make recommendations.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ever-changing environment, while remaining focused on the end goal
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to leverage AI tools appropriately to advance the work the team is doing.
• Ability to explain data and resulting insights clearly and succinctly to internal (i.e., team members, sales) and external (customer) stakeholders.
• Proven success in highlighting key insights or opportunities visually, or in PowerPoint format.
• Possesses a natural mindset for analytics.
• Displays a curiosity about market trends, shopper behavior, and related business processes.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $120,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
