Job summary

Global Partners LP seeks a BI Analytics Manager for the Terminals unit to lead a team of analysts and partner with leadership to drive data-driven decisions. You will define KPIs, build end-to-end BI solutions, and deliver dashboards that inform terminal capacity, pricing, scheduling, and asset utilization.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7+ years in BI/data analytics, strong SQL and major BI tool experience (Tableau/Power BI/Looker), and a proven ability to translate business needs into actionable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
  • 5+ years in BI or Data Analytics with growth in responsibilities.
  • 2–3+ years leading projects or mentoring staff.
  • Proven experience translating business needs into analytical solutions in retail contexts.
  • Expert SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
  • Deep expertise with major BI platforms; dashboard design and optimization.
  • Strong storytelling and communication to diverse audiences.
  • Exposure to data prep/modeling tools (dbt, sqlmesh).
  • Experience with Python or R for analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or BigQuery.

Join Global Partners LP as our Business Intelligence (BI) Analytics Manager for the Terminals business unit. Collaborating closely with leadership, terminal operations, and divisional teams, you will champion data-driven decision-making across the organization by designing and deploying timely analytics, defining key performance indicators, and implementing robust business intelligence solutions. Through your expertise in tools like SQL, Tableau, and modern data platforms—including Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran—you will help ensure that terminal operations are optimized for profitability, efficiency, and growth. The BI Manager, Terminals at Global Partners is responsible for driving operational insights, improving profitability, and empowering terminal teams with actionable intelligence. You’ll develop dashboards, optimize processes, and provide recommendations on terminal capacity, pricing strategies, scheduling, and asset utilization. Your analysis will directly support decisions related to terminal operations, acquisition strategies, and long-term planning, enabling us to maximize value and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in modern BI tools and analytics stacks, and a deep understanding of operational data workflows. They will play a crucial role in driving business growth and improving operational efficiency through data-driven recommendations.

Your Role, Your Impact
  • Lead and mentor (player coach) a team of BI analysts, fostering analytical rigor, technical skill development, with a culture of curiosity and data-driven insights.
  • Partner with Retail leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop robust analytical frameworks to measure business performance, identify trends, and track progress against strategic goals.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into specific, testable hypotheses and analytical plans; proactively identify areas where data analysis can deliver significant value.
  • Lead the end-to-end development, delivery, and optimization of BI solutions, including dashboards and reports, utilizing SQL and BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior leadership, through compelling data storytelling and visualizations.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses using SQL, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), and Python/R to uncover root causes, identify actionable opportunities for growth or optimization, and quantify business impact.
  • Own the design, development, and continuous improvement of core Retail dashboards and reporting suites, ensuring data accuracy, clarity, and relevance for various Retail business verticals.
  • Champion data literacy, drive adoption of self-service BI tools, and promote best practices in data governance within the Retail unit.
  • Collaborate with central data teams to influence the design and evolution of data models and infrastructure needed to support robust retail analytics and data capabilities.
  • Explore and apply appropriate statistical techniques or basic forecasting models to address specific retail challenges, such as customer behavior analysis or demand planning (nice-to-have).
  • Champion data quality, consistency, and governance best practices within the Retail analytics domain.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
  • 5-7+ years in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
  • 2-3+ years of experience leading projects or directly managing/mentoring analytical staff.
  • Proven experience translating business needs into analytical solutions and actionable insights within a business context. Experience within the Retail, C-Store, eCommerce, or related industries.
  • Expert-level SQL skills for complex data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Deep expertise with major BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.) including dashboard design, development, and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional data storytelling and communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills; proven ability to manage and develop analysts as a player-coach.
  • Excellent business acumen and problem-solving skills, particularly within a retail context.
  • Exposure to data preparation/modeling tools (e.g., dbt, sqlmesh).
  • Exposure to Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, or basic predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Passion for data quality, continuous learning, and fostering a data-informed culture.
Pay Range

$136,200.00 - $204,200.00

The pay range for this position is outlined above. The final amount offered at the start of employment is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, experience level, knowledge, skills, abilities and geographic location, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
