Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP seeks a seasoned Business Continuity Manager to lead the continuity, crisis management, and operational resilience program. You will connect planning with critical IT components, review vendor resiliency, and guide executives through recovery priorities.

In this role you will maintain plans, coordinate exercises, and drive readiness across cloud and SaaS services, ensuring documentation remains accurate and actionable for senior leadership and client commitments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency preparedness, or operational resilience.
  • CBCP or comparable certification preferred.
  • Ability to operate with credibility and independence in senior-level discussions, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment without direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and clear thinking under pressure.
  • Familiarity with resilience expectations in regulated or client-sensitive environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Business Continuity Program resources, including planning documents, procedures, contacts, and supporting artifacts.
  • Conduct business impact, risk, and dependency analysis to identify continuity gaps and mitigation opportunities.
  • Engage senior Firm leaders to map critical functions, IT dependencies, recovery priorities, and continuity risks.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity, crisis management, and response plans.
  • Assess critical cloud and SaaS services against continuity requirements and document risks.
  • Administer the emergency notification platform, train staff, and support alerts during exercises or actual events.
  • Plan and document business continuity and disaster recovery exercises for weather, disruption, technology outage, pandemic, or similar scenarios.
  • Preserve continuity of knowledge through handoff documentation and lessons learned.
  • Incorporate client expectations, regulatory considerations, and industry practices into continuity planning.

The Business Continuity Manager supports the Firm’s business continuity, crisis management, and operational resilience program. It maintains business continuity plans, emergency notification capabilities, and program documentation. This role reports to the Director, IT Infrastructure Services and works directly with Firm Leadership, Chiefs, Directors, and senior functional stakeholders to connect Business Continuity planning with critical business processes and supporting IT components. The position works to reduce continuity risk and improve readiness through exercises, lessons learned, and industry practices.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain Business Continuity Program resources, including planning documents, procedures, contacts, and supporting artifacts.
  • Conduct business impact, risk, and dependency analysis to identify continuity gaps, hidden assumptions, and mitigation opportunities.
  • Engage senior Firm leaders, Chiefs, Directors, and key functional stakeholders to map critical functions, IT dependencies, recovery priorities, and continuity risks.
  • Develop, update, and maintain business continuity, crisis management, and response plan so documentation remains accurate and actionable.
  • Assess critical cloud and SaaS services against business continuity requirements, documenting recovery assumptions, vendor service commitments, resiliency capabilities, and associated continuity risks.
  • Administer the emergency notification platform, maintain user data, train staff, and support alerts during exercises or actual events.
  • Plan, facilitate, and document business continuity and disaster recovery exercises for weather, office disruption, technology outage, pandemic, or similar scenarios.
  • Preserve continuity of knowledge through clear handoff documentation, lessons learned, and repeatable processes for critical program activities.
  • Incorporate applicable client expectations, regulatory considerations, and industry practices into continuity planning recommendations.
  • Coordinate remediation tracking and stakeholder communications to strengthen program readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and job-related skills
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency preparedness, or operational resilience.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and exercising continuity plans, crisis plans, emergency notifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with credibility and independence in senior-level discussions, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment without direct supervisory authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear thinking under pressure.
  • Familiarity with resilience expectations in regulated or client-sensitive environments.
  • DRII Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or comparable certification preferred.
