Job summary

City of San José's SJCE is seeking a Senior Power Resources Specialist to lead the building electrification programs portfolio. You will drive strategy, oversee day-to-day program delivery, and pursue external funding to support decarbonization for residential and commercial customers.

The role partners with the Energy Department, supervises two staff, and reports to the Principal Manager of Decarbonization Programs. A Bachelor's degree and energy program experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field such as engineering, environmental studies, or business.
• Minimum three years of experience in energy resources operations, planning, purchasing, scheduling, or contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction to building electrification programs and manage contracts and budgets.
• Lead program delivery, including EcoHome portfolios and funding opportunities.
• Oversee staff, set goals, and mentor two team members.
• Ensure programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations and align with SJCE's roadmap.
• Represent SJCE in stakeholder groups and coordinate with City departments.
