Job summary

Astound in Lanham, MD seeks a Manager, Broadband Network Technician to lead operations for all Broadband Network Technicians and ensure dependable service across our fiber network. The role partners with engineering and field teams to drive efficiency and quality in daily activity.

You will analyze customer and operations needs, implement process improvements, and work with department managers to deliver metrics and reporting while tracking capital and expense projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license.
• 5+ outside plant experience within telecommunications industry.
• 3+ years supervisory/management experience within telecommunications industry.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex operational issues across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of the Manager, Broadband Network Technician:

• Managing operations activities of all Broadband Network Technicians


• Analyze customer and operations needs


• Identifies new process improvements and technical changes that address customer needs


• Work with department managers and directors to provide key metrics and other appropriate reporting


• Track and facilitate capital and expense projects


• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record per the Fleet Policy


• Experience: 5 outside plant experience within telecommunications industry; 3 supervisory/management experience within telecommunications industry


• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Analytical skills, organizational skills, strategic and tactical business acumen, ability to foster and develop relationships across multiple departments, evaluate/train/motivate staff, ability to resolve conflict and navigate difficult conversations, understand FCC/OSHA/PUC regulations, understand, adhere to and ensure safety policies and/or protocols are followed

Base Salary: The base salary range in Maryland for this position is $68,662.78 – $126,997.42 (per hour/ annually), plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Maryland and may not be applicable to other locations.
