SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for directing the activities of the laboratory blood bank and transfusion services, ensuring compliance with procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing staff, evaluating equipment and processes, managing inventory, and ensuring quality and safety. The role requires expertise in laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and blood banking, along with strong personnel management skills. The manager will also engage and collaborate with other hospital departments, vendors, and third-party institutions on various initiatives and processes to ensure seamless operations and effective coordination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related programs.
  • Minimum six (6) years blood bank and clinical laboratory experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years supervisor or team leader of blood bank experience.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist - ASCP (ASCP) American Society of Clinical Pathology.
  • Medical Laboratory Science – AMT (American Medical Technologist).
  • Specialist in Blood Bank (ASCP) or equivalent certification agency certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master's degree (MS, MBA, MHA).
