Job Description

The Manager of Asset Protection (AP) is responsible for supervising Asset Protection teams in the store they support. This includes recruiting, development, performance oversight, and budgeting. The position executes the company's shrinkage reduction strategy within their store or building. The Asset Protection Manager ensures the safety and security of employees, prevents theft, enhances profitability, and aligns with company values and business strategy. They partner with cross-functional store leaders to support retail asset protection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Lead by example and execute the organizational strategy set by the AP Division.
  2. Develop strong relationships within the store, including with the Store Manager, Service Experience, Inventory Accuracy, and Human Resources, focusing on shrink-related issues.
  3. Act as the owner of building security and safety, educating staff on emergency preparedness and assisting during safety incidents.
  4. Monitor and communicate reports to ensure AP incidents are properly reported and documented.
  5. Use data to identify trends and mitigate internal and external theft.
  6. Implement shrink reduction programs and detect theft and dishonesty.
  7. Hire and develop talent capable of supporting investigations, audits, shortage reduction, and AP awareness programs.
  8. Leverage reporting to identify risks, reduce loss, and maximize profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven success in investigative, asset protection, and security procedures, with prior AP leadership experience.
  • Understanding of Exception Based Reporting tools and Case Management Software.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with employees and leaders.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills in high-stress situations.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Organizational, delegation, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with monitoring and surveillance technologies.
  • High ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Flexible schedule based on department and store needs.
