Job summary

Nordic seeks an IT Applications Manager to lead the design, development, optimization, and support of designated healthcare IT applications. You will drive standardized delivery, governance, and change management across projects, with a focus on improving workflows and data reporting.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA required; 5+ years in roles supporting healthcare IT applications (7+ years if no degree).
  • Experience leading teams of analysts and coordinating with clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL with proven governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of application analysts to ensure delivery quality.

Grow your career.**Job Summary**The IT Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, optimization and support of their designated applications in support of Nordic's managed services customers. Must have in-depth knowledge of application administration, the healthcare IT industry, and IT Service Management. The IT Applications Manager provides leadership and oversight to all areas of responsibility. The incumbent will be knowledgeable about organizational policies, procedures and business operations, and the areas of business they are representing and the functionality available in the application(s). The Manager will direct a team of application analysts in managing the day-to-day activities related to the applications. The incumbent will partner will operational leaders in the organization to ensure design of applications and other functionality to support the optimization of clinical and operational workflows. The Manager will oversee and drive decisions in support of changes to integrated workflows, any significant changes to data collection processes and/or reports associated with the use of vendor software. The IT Applications Manager is responsible for understanding the operational strategies and how they drive integration with vendor applications and design the implementation and optimization of the system.The IT Applications Manager will ensure alignment of all application activities with cultural and clinical transformation objectives. The incumbent will identify and manage resistance to change as related to their respective application(s) of responsibility. Assists customers to assure that the plans for the project are appropriate to meet the organization's goals.* Promotes the development of and adherence to standards for the management of team activities to increase efficiencies, promote quality and enhance the customer experience.* Assists in providing scheduled and ad hoc coverage for system support including on-call responsibilities.* Participates actively in department model of skill and resource sharing across teams including the responsibility to perform other duties as assigned.* Assessing implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflows and operations* Coordinating with the application analysts and their team activities, including oversight for application specific issues, progress, build status, etc.* Working closely with the executive leaders to understand the prioritization model in place with all customers and key stakeholders.* Coordinating with local market leaders on organizational change* Partnering with clinical leaders at the corporate and local levels to achieve optimal levels of transformation* Achieving in-depth knowledge of the software and serve as a bridge between end users and vendor implementation staff* Directing the strategic communications with vendor’s leadership team, analyzing business operational impacts, and working with the vendor to resolve outstanding issues* Partnering with peers outside the organization to share and obtain process improvement knowledge associated with the use of the software* Approving significant changes requested for the system* Collecting information regarding emerging trends and challenges in the healthcare industry**Skills and Experience*** Strong people management and coaching abilities.* Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL framework.* Strong knowledge of best practices and standards in primary area of responsibility.* Demonstrated ability to implement and hold others accountable for producing sustained high-quality results.* Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor teams and individuals, including job performance reviews.* Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience.* Effectively navigate shifting priorities, demands, and timelines in a fluid environment.* Experience in managing projects and leading effective meetings.* Ability to identify, hire, and train top candidates to build your team.* Excellent verbal and written communication (especially around policy, audits, and governance)* Ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff* Demonstrated workflow process analysis and design.* Willingness to travel throughout Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio, Kentucky and other states as needed not to exceed 10% of the time.**Minimum Years of Experience*** BS/BA in Engineering, Information Systems, Clinical Informatics, Medicine, or relevant field.* 5+ years’ experience as an application analyst, project manager, informaticist, or infrastructure specialist operating on a team supporting healthcare IT applications (7+ years without degree requirement).**Additional Details*** Long-distance or air travel as needed-not to exceed 10% travel* Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions**Nordic is an equal opportunity employer.
