Job description

Cardinal Health is seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and hands‑on Manager, SAP BRIM Run Operations to join the SAP Center of Excellence. In this leadership role, the successful candidate is directly accountable for the stable run, support, and continuous enhancement of Cardinal Health's SAP BRIM landscape.

Serving as the premier IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) and operational leader for the BRIM platform, the Manager directs a team of onshore and offshore functional and technical engineers. This role bridges the gap between complex billing architecture and operational excellence, ensuring that subscription order management, charging, invoicing, and financial integrations perform flawlessly.

Responsibilities
Run Operations, SLA Management & System Stability
  • Operational Leadership: Lead and manage day-to-day SAP Run operations for the S/4HANA system supporting the BRIM functionality, ensuring secure, stable, compliant, and high-performing system functionality.
  • Incident & Change Management: Oversee end-to-end incident, defect, problem, enhancement, and change management processes specifically tailored for all core SAP BRIM modules.
  • SLA & KPI Governance: Work closely with managed service partners and external vendors to ensure strict adherence to SLAs and KPIs for system uptime, support responsiveness, and resolution times.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the rapid resolution of System Restoration Tickets (SRTs) and operational crises, providing technical direction and clear stakeholder communications.
  • System Monitoring: Oversee the order and delivery flow, batch management, and job scheduling, proactively identifying and automating recurring incidents.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration
  • Cohesive Solutions: Collaborate with other SAP and non-SAP process tower leaders (such as RTR, MDT, and middleware teams) to ensure cohesive end-to-end solutions that protect downstream processes.
  • Interface Management: Monitor and support critical integrations involving multiple systems (e.g., Salesforce, external mediation systems, EDI, APIs, Web Services, and digital payment systems) and lead troubleshooting efforts.
Innovation, AI, & Strategic Direction
  • AI & Automation: Champion and drive the hands-on usage of AI tools and automated processes to boost operational productivity, optimize team delivery, and drive self-healing system capabilities.
  • Standardization: Influence internal business partners and external vendor teams to leverage standard "out-of-the-box" SAP BRIM solutions, aggressively minimizing technical debt and custom developments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep pace with emerging technologies and SAP releases, translating business needs into modern system capabilities.
Compliance, Audit & Governance
  • IT Controls & Compliance: Take full responsibility for IT General Controls (ITGC), SOX compliance, and successful audit readiness within the SAP S/4HANA BRIM platform.
  • Access Control: Maintain rigorous standards for documentation, user access management, and segregation of duties (SoD).
Talent & People Leadership
  • Team Development: Direct, mentor, and develop a diverse team of functional and technical SAP BRIM professionals.
  • Capacity Management: Successfully balance available team capacity (resources) against incoming operational demands, support tickets, and minor enhancement projects.
  • Consensus Building: Act as a collaborative leader who excels at gaining consensus across business stakeholders, internal IT partners, and offshore vendors.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), preferred.
  • Overall SAP Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ERP landscapes, with at least 3+ years in a formal leadership, managerial, or team lead role, preferred.
  • BRIM Specialization: Minimum of 3+ years of dedicated, deep technical and functional experience in SAP BRIM (Billing and Revenue Innovation Management).
  • Operations Focus: Proven experience managing SAP Run/Support operations post-implementation in a high-volume, enterprise-level SAP Center of Excellence (CoE). Experience with incident, problem, and change management in a production SAP environment.
  • Core Module Expertise: Deep architectural understanding and configuration awareness across core BRIM modules such as: SOM (subscription lifecycles, provider contracts, and charge plan triggering), CM (usage event collection, mediation workflows, and rules), CC (charging plans, rating clusters, CC Core Tool, and CDC), CI (BIT processing, billing, and invoicing rules), FI-CA (payment lots)
  • AI Tooling: Hands-on proficiency using modern AI tools (e.g., generative AI assist, automated testing, predictive diagnostics) to accelerate code review, configuration verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Integration & Middleware: Strong interface experience utilizing IDocs, RFCs, APIs, and enterprise middleware. Experience with Digital Payment Add-ons is a strong plus.
  • ABAP Skills: Ability to read, understand, and debug ABAP code to facilitate rapid issue isolation and system troubleshooting.
  • Methodologies & Tools: Practical knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies (e.g., SAP Activate/ASAP) and experience with robust transport control/change management tools (e.g., Active Control).
  • Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture and operations.
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA technologies (BRF+, Fiori Apps etc.)
