Job description

The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Manager of Administration and Facilities to join our San Francisco, CA office. The Manager of Administration & Facilities is a dual role responsible for ensuring a highly skilled and high-performing administrative support team and managing facility operations for assigned office locations. The role operates within a matrix reporting structure, managing the performance of the administrative support team in their assigned offices while also managing the daily support operations for their designated Management Group across offices. The role will be responsible for ensuring efficient administrative procedures while identifying and providing targeted training for Senior Administrators that best optimizes the productivity of their Principals. The role will provide back-up support for Senior Administrators. The position reports to the Director of Administration and Facilities and works closely with local Office Directors and other Administration and Facilities managers.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Directly lead, manage, coach, and develop the administrative team members for the relevant Management Group(s) and offices.
  2. Support onboarding and training of new administrative team members to ensure consistency in administrative processes and procedures.
  3. Oversee the annual performance review process for the team. Ensure that all team members have annual goals that are challenging, motivating, and move the individual forward in their development, and the team forward in its effectiveness.
  4. Assess the training needs of team members and organize/give training as required. Work with the Learning & Development team and Human Resources to ensure more complex developmental needs are met.
  5. Regularly engage with the Management Group Lead and Corporate Operations team to align the Administrative and Facilities team objectives with business needs.
  6. Directly lead, manage, coach, and develop Facilities team members for assigned locations.
  7. Working with on-site teams, ensure assigned offices are maintained to Brattle standards.
  8. Support and help to manage office/facilities related projects, e.g. office moves, construction or remodeling, space reconfigurations, furniture, or fixture updates.
  9. Provide back-up support for Senior Administrators as needed, including coverage during absences, peak workload periods, or transitions.

THE CANDIDATE

  1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  2. Requires five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience with at least three (3) years in administrative management (including staffing, hiring and development); experience in a professional services or similar environment highly desired.
  3. Experience working with remote locations and managing dispersed teams.
  4. Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  5. Ability to direct multiple projects and scopes simultaneously.
  6. Ability to manage and motivate a team with different levels of experience.
  7. Strong track record of building and motivating teams.
  8. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  9. Strong planning, budgeting, and project management skills required.
  10. Fast-paced office environment handling multiple tasks and demands.
  11. Evening/weekend work may be required (with notice).
  12. Occasional domestic travel as needed.

Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $105,000 - $120,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
