Core Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Actuarial Support Analysts
- Set priorities, manage capacity, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery
- Drive clear accountability for in-flight work, next steps, and outcomes
- Perform structured quality reviews of implementation, testing, and documentation
2. Rating Implementation & Validation
- Oversee implementation of rating algorithms, rate tables, and product changes
- Ensure logic is accurately translated from actuarial and product specifications
- Validate premium impacts through structured testing (UAT, regression, scenario testing)
- Ensure outputs are accurate, repeatable, and production-ready
3. Regulatory Alignment (Execution Ownership)
- Ensure implemented rating structures align with approved product designs and regulatory requirements
- Confirm systems generate regulator-aligned outcomes
- Maintain audit-ready documentation of implementation decisions and validation results
- Partner with Product and Compliance to incorporate regulatory updates
- Urgently correct rating structures or tables as a result of discovered production issues
4. Workflow & Execution Management
- Ensure all meaningful work is:
- Clearly defined before execution
- Tracked with an owner and next step (e.g., ClickUp)
- Maintain visibility into:
- At-risk projects and dependencies
- Drive resolution of blockers and unclear priorities
5. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate across Actuarial Pricing, Product, Compliance, and IT
- Ensure work is scoped, sequenced, and ready before execution
- Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies early and accelerate as needed
- Provide concise, fact-based updates to stakeholders
6. Process, Documentation & Controls
- Establish and enforce:
- Standard procedures for repeatable work
- Project documentation (plans or briefs) for structured execution
- Peer review checklists for quality control
- Repeatability
- Auditability
- Knowledge transfer
7. Technical Leadership
- Provide expertise in rating algorithms, system logic, and configuration
- Lead resolution of premium discrepancies and production issues
- Ensure consistent application of validation, testing, and review standards
Qualifications
- 6+ years in actuarial support, pricing, or related roles
- Experience with rating algorithms, system implementation, and cross-functional work
- Strong understanding of insurance rating structures and regulatory environment
- Advanced Excel skills; SQL or similar tools preferred
- Guidewire software experience preferred (Policy Center, etc)
