The Accounts Payable Manager will perform essential duties including ensuring timely financial report generation, maintaining accounting standards and procedures, and implementing internal audits to ensure compliance with established controls. They will also resolve matters related to financial reporting and controls, and provide direction and training to staff processing Accounts Payable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing and improving departmental workflow for efficiency.
- Managing all accounts payable system maintenance and processing, including reference files, vendor payments, signature authorities, and period-end processes.
- Establishing and monitoring financial controls around accounts payable, including reconciliations and performance metrics.
- Ensuring invoice payments align with company policies and discounts are utilized.
- Resolving disputes with vendors and business units.
- Coordinating user training for the accounts payable system.
- Ensuring proper administration of vendor invoices and accuracy in daily invoices.
- Performing month-end closings and accruing invoices.
- Managing day-to-day operations and personnel of the accounts payable function.
- Ensuring payments are approved according to delegation of authority.
- Monitoring positive pay and ACH payments.
- Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and laws.
- Preparing and submitting annual 1099s.
- Performing other assigned tasks.

Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, preferably SAP.
- Ability to manage in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Managing employees remotely.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with internal and external customer/supplier interactions.
- Experience establishing financial controls in a corporate environment.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in accounts payable processing.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
People Management: Yes.
