Job summary

Purchasing Power, LLC, focused on employee purchase programs, is hiring a Manager, Accounting to lead day-to-day close operations and build the accounting team as we grow as a public company.

Reporting to the Controller, you will own the general ledger close, drive SOX compliance, mentor staff, and advance AI-enabled process automation to improve close and reporting.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5+ years in a publicly traded (SEC-reporting) environment.
• 3+ years of direct people management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting staff.
• 3+ years of SOX 404 compliance experience, including ICFR design, RCM ownership, and external auditor management.
• Proven experience supporting SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and managing accelerated filing deadlines.
• Large ERP experience required (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar). Workday preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with close management platforms (e.g., BlackLine, FloQast) a plus.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-powered accounting tools, intelligent automation, or data analytics platforms preferred.
• CPA required; Big 4 or national public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages the full end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP, including the close calendar, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and consolidation.
• Directly manage, mentor and develop accounting staff through onboarding, training, and goal-setting.
• Reviews and approves flux/variance analyses with commentary for senior management and supports SEC filings.
• Ensures Sarbanes-Oxley 404 controls and ICFR design; partners with IA to update controls as needed.
• Leads initiatives to improve close, consolidation, and reporting processes; drives AI-powered automation.
