Department Overview

The BDC Fund Accounting Department is responsible for the financial and investor reporting associated with Golub Capital’s Business Development Companies (“BDCs”), including Golub Capital BDC, Inc. (NASDAQ: GBDC), Golub Capital Direct Lending Corporation, Golub Capital Direct Lending Unlevered Corporation, Golub Capital BDC 4, Inc., and Golub Capital Private Credit Fund. The team handles accounting and SEC reporting for these entities in accordance with US GAAP and the governing agreements. Responsibilities include monthly closes, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, investor reporting, external audits, and process automation. The department collaborates extensively with other teams such as Operations, Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, and Technology.

Hiring Manager: Assistant Controller

Department: Executive - Split

Position Responsibilities

1. Lead accounting and financial reporting for BDCs, including month-end closes, ledger reconciliation, expense calculation, and financial statement preparation.
2. Manage investor activities such as capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
3. Coordinate with third-party transfer agents and internal teams on shareholder activities.
4. Ensure BDCs maintain RIC status for tax purposes.
5. Prepare forecasts and support ad hoc projects to improve processes and automation.
6. Review portfolio data and prepare Board materials.
7. Lead controls and coach junior team members.
8. Participate in projects like technology upgrades, fund initiatives, and compliance activities.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services, private equity, or similar, with SEC experience a plus.
• CPA encouraged.
• Experience with GAAP financial statements and proficiency in Excel required.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to operationalize complex agreements.
• Enthusiasm for hybrid work culture.

Compensation And Benefits
