Job description

Title and Summary

Manager, Account Management | Community Institutions

Overview

Mastercard's Community Institutions team is launching Team Catalyst, an innovative new account management model designed to redefine how we partner with our longer-tail customers.

As customer expectations evolve and operational complexity increases, we are transforming from a traditional one-to-one account management structure to a collaborative, team-based model that enables us to deliver deeper expertise, greater consistency, and broader access to Mastercard's capabilities.

Team Catalyst is an incubation team focused on building the future of customer partnership and engagement.

We are challenging conventional approaches, creating scalable strategies, leveraging data and automation, and finding new ways to bring the full power of Mastercard to our customers.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help design, build, and scale a new model while directly influencing customer growth, experience, and operational excellence across a portfolio of Community Institution customers.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy turning ideas into action, and are energized by solving complex problems, we'd love to meet you.

The Role

As a Manager, Account Management on Team Catalyst, you will help shape and execute the future vision for customer engagement within Mastercard's Community Institutions segment.

You will combine strategic thinking, customer relationship management, business development, and operational excellence to drive measurable outcomes for both customers and Mastercard.

Working within a highly collaborative team environment, you will identify opportunities, build scalable solutions, drive execution, and continuously refine our approach to customer growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovate: Help evolve Mastercard's next-generation account management model for Community Institutions, identifying new ways to scale customer engagement, drive operational efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Strategize: Develop and execute customer engagement strategies that drive growth, improve customer outcomes, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Advise: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders by understanding their business objectives, strategic priorities, operating challenges, and market opportunities.
  • Champion: Lead strategic initiatives from concept through execution, partnering across Mastercard to design solutions, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Collaborate: Partner closely with teams across Product, Services, Technology, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to bring the full breadth of Mastercard capabilities to customers and accelerate adoption of solutions that deliver meaningful business value.
  • Negotiate: Own the end-to-end deal lifecycle for customer renewals and growth opportunities, including RFP responses, deal modeling, contract negotiations, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Engage: Design and execute scalable customer engagement strategies through 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many programs, including webinars, office hours, customer education forums, thought leadership campaigns, and portfolio-wide communications.
All About You
  • Builder who enjoys creating new playbooks, processes, and ways of working.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by solving complex problems.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven track record of execution.
  • Exceptional relationship builder and trusted advisor.
  • Skilled at influencing and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Growth-oriented with a track record of identifying opportunities and delivering business results.
  • Commercially minded with strong negotiation, sales, and deal management capabilities.
  • Effective communicator with experience engaging executive stakeholders.
  • Positive, team-first mindset with a love for collaboration and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to make things happen.
  • Self-starter who is highly organized, curious, and results-oriented.
