Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Dining Room Mgr 2 to join our amazing team atVinson Hall Retirement CommunityinMcLean, VA. In this role, you will will oversee dining room operations for the independent living residents, the bistro as well as special catering events. Will report to the General Manager and manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees. Must be able to work a flexible schedule - hours may vary with the ability to rotate every other weekend required. Previous bartending experience an added plus!

What You'll Do
  • oversee the day-to-day dining room operations for the Independent Living residents;
  • manage and develop a team of associates to include training and daily scheduling;
  • ensure food quality, safety and presentation of the residents meals;
  • collaborate with other departments to enhance the resident dining experience;
  • oversee special events held in various dining venues on campus.

What You Bring
  • two or more years of food service management experience in the restaurant or senior living industry; prior bartending and/or catering experience a plus;
  • a passion for food service and a high level of customer service;
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilitiesas needed;
  • excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with seniors in an active, fast-paced environment;and
  • have workingknowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Minimum Management Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
