Job summary

Verts Neighborhood Dispensary is seeking a General Manager for the Dexter, Missouri location. You will oversee daily operations, lead the team, manage schedules, and ensure an outstanding customer experience while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, inventory and cash-handling expertise, and the ability to drive performance in a fast-paced, highly regulated cannabis retail environment.

Qualifications

We're looking for a strong, experienced leader to oversee our Joplin location and help lead our team as we continue to grow.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the Dexter dispensary. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to lead a team, hold people accountable, create an exceptional customer experience, and keep operations running smoothly.

The General Manager will:

• Lead, coach, and develop the dispensary team
• Create and maintain staff schedules based on business needs
• Manage employee performance, accountability, and day-to-day team needs
• Ensure the dispensary consistently delivers an excellent customer experience
• Oversee inventory, cash handling, and daily operational procedures
• Maintain strict compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations
• Monitor sales, operational goals, and other key performance metrics
• Ensure the store is clean, organized, secure, and professionally operated
• Hire, onboard, and train new team members
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues professionally
• Work closely with corporate leadership and other departments
• Support company promotions, initiatives, and operational changes
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and the overall customer and employee experience

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous management experience in retail, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing environment
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience with inventory management and cash handling
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to confidently handle difficult conversations and resolve conflict
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
• High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and financial transactions
• Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling platforms, and basic reporting tools
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Cannabis industry experience or knowledge of cannabis products and regulations is a plus
