Job summary

Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) offers a Management Trainee program in the Elevator Division designed to train candidates for leadership roles in a fast-paced industry. Trainees will rotate through warehouse, counter sales, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, and project management to prepare for running a location of their own.

The on-the-job program lasts 2–3 years with online training, emphasizing electrical products, sales, and management.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability and willingness to relocate nationally during and upon completion of the program.

Description

CED’s Management Training program in our Elevator Division is tailored to sales-minded candidates seeking management positions in an evolving industry. CED is a privately held company with more than 800 locations. Management Trainees are taught every aspect of CED’s business in order to run their own multi-million-dollar location upon completion of the training.

On-the-job training lasts for 2-3 years and includes development phases in warehouse, counter sales, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, account management, project management, inventory management and business development. Throughout the program, trainees attend multiple sessions focused on electrical products, sales, and management.

While the position provides real on-the-job training, there is also online training related to electrical systems, sales, and management. No prior industry experience is necessary: we give you the tools needed to be successful with CED. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills, is geographically flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-faceted industry.

Initial location: Enfield, CT. Relocation outside Connecticut required after the first year of training.

Reports to: Training Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Bachelor’s Degree - will consider related experience in lieu of degree
• Current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from work locations
• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)
• Ability and willingness to relocate nationally during and upon completion of the program--this role is not permanently located in Connecticut
• Regular and consistent attendance

Working Conditions:

• Conditions vary based on the trainee’s current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office, and external environments.
• During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, and possible extreme heat/cold conditions.
• Office segments may include sitting for extended periods.
• Various segments will include some travel – both by car and by air.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $61000 to $65000 annually.
