Management Trainee - Financial/Marketing Analyst track

Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) is a leading integrated retailer with almost 2,500 full-line and specialty retail stores in the United States and Canada. Sears is a leading retailer in home appliances, tools, lawn and garden, fitness equipment, and automotive repair and maintenance.

The Management Trainee program partners with the leadership team to complete a twelve-month training program focused on a specific track, which the candidate will be hired into. This position provides comprehensive learning about all aspects of the Home Improvement business related to the chosen track during the program.

Upon completion, candidates must demonstrate leadership competencies required for each track. Tracks include Sales, Production, Call Center Operations, Business Analytics, or HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). The goal is for individuals to develop proficiency in all job assignments and be prepared to assume a salaried manager role at the end of the program.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of analytics and sound decision-making to identify key problems and recommend solutions to leadership.
  • Leverage resources and tools to create a seamless home improvement experience.
  • Interact with various levels within the district, call center, or corporate to learn and demonstrate effective customer satisfaction strategies and inspire others.
  • Gather and analyze data systematically, probing to understand and generate multiple solutions.
  • Support business strategy through effective communication, presentations, and discussions to promote understanding and commitment.
  • Develop insights into people and organizational dynamics to improve business results and employee engagement.
  • Complete all program requirements, including passing knowledge tests and manager evaluations.
  • Live the SHC Cultural Beliefs daily, focusing on key results.

Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a partnered university or college.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) to inspire and support associates, managers, and customers.
  • Project management, organizational, and time management skills; ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new opportunities and processes.
  • Ability to remain productive and composed under pressure.
  • Ability to lift and carry products, with occasional lifting of sample cases up to 40 lbs., depending on the track.
  • Understanding of initiative impacts and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Professional representation of the company adhering to the Code of Conduct and Ethical Business practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree; no prior related experience required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Driver's License required.
  • Travel up to 50%.
  • Age 18+.
  • Preferred skills include prior leadership experience and familiarity with lead tracking, appointment centers, or call systems.
