Description

THIS IS AN OPEN MANAGEMENT TRAINEE POSITION AND WILL BE FILLED AS NEEDED.

CANDIDATES MUST BE OPEN TO EXTENSIVE TRAVEL AND RELOCATION AND FINAL PLACEMENT AT ANY OF PATRIOT RAIL PROPERTIES OPERATED OR MANAGED BY PATRIOT RAIL. THIS COULD INCLUDE ADDITIONAL PROPERTIES ACQUIRED OR OPERATED IN THE FUTURE BY PATRIOT RAIL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management trainees engage in a broad range of duties during cross-functional assignments. Responsibilities will vary depending upon assignment.
  • Complete hands-on assignments at multiple properties to learn Patriot's business.
  • Travel frequently, up to 80-90% of the time.
  • Understand the Patriot Way - our company's visions and values.
  • Demonstrate Patriot’s Commitment to Safety.
  • Learn the business of railroading.
  • Understand safe railroad operating practices, including train conductor certification.
  • Develop leadership skills.
  • Qualify on certain types of rail equipment and rail-specific software applications.
EDUCATIONAL AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current Conductor Certification required.
  • Good educational record; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods and work all shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • Valid driver’s license with a 3-year acceptable driving history.
  • Must pass background screening and drug test before starting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach, write, talk, type, hear, and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions, including outdoor and cramped spaces, is required.
