Job Description and Duties

Under supervision of the Community Resources Manager (CRM), the Management Services Technician (MST) will perform the less difficult gathering and analysis of program information associated with the Rehabilitative Achievement Credit (RAC) earning programs, Milestone Completion Credit earning programs, Inmate Activity Groups, Self-Help Programs, Innovative Grant Recipient programs, Self-Help Sponsors, and Volunteers. The duties require the ability to analyze written and numerical data accurately; write and communicate effectively; interpret and edit written material; and maintain professional demeanor and confidentiality as required. The MST will assist with data and tracking of incarcerated group activities into Strategic Offender Management System (SOMS). The MST will aid and guide incarcerated people while sponsoring incarcerated group activities.

MST work hours would be primarily during third watch (afternoon/evening hours) and weekends to align with most RAC programs.

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a three (3) percent reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
